"The L Word"s Guinevere Turner at Opening Night Party of LGBTQ Cinema
In a gala evening celebrating the achievements of women filmmakers
specializing in lesbian-gay-bisexual-transperson-queer cinema, the 2007 San
Francisco Women's Film Festival fills up 12 Galaxies with outstanding
films, Q&As with directors, dancing, catering from High Art Catering and
a live DJ. Special guest Guinevere Turner has appeared in films "Go
Fish," "Chasing Amy," "Dogma" and more, and co-wrote "American Psycho,"
"The Notorious Bettie Page," and the television series, "The L Word."
The 2007 San Francisco Women's Film Festival kicks off April 11th with
an opening night screening and party at 12 Galaxies. Join as we pay
tribute to independent film director Guinevere Turner. Guinevere Turner,
who has appeared in such films as "Go Fish," "Chasing Amy," "Dogma" and
"Kiss Me, Guido." Additionally, she has co-written many works,
including "American Psycho," "The Notorious Bettie Page," and the television
series, "The L Word." Not only will we see some of her films, but also
she will be on hand for a Q&A session.
The evening presents achievements made by women filmmakers in LGBTQ
cinema, showing short by various international and local filmmakers,
including a preview of Lynn Breedlove's last film, "Godspeed."
Opening Night's festivities begin at 7PM with musical act Trusting Lucy, screening of shorts films
and a Q&A, followed by dancing and live DJ. Food is provided by High Art Catering. Cash bar is available.
